Returning the sweet gesture....... and I think we still look good - even though this photo is more than 20 years later! Love you, dear cousin!

What a week it has been - I have been so incredibly busy! I started another prac in a kindy classroom, so I am working at the school for about 35-40 hours each week and spending another 25-30 hours on other uni stuff. Monday-Friday, I am pulling 13-14 hour work days trying to get everything done. But, the prac is going really well so far, and it has been a great experience. Overall, I will be working there for five weeks. The school is in a very affluent suburb of Canberra and the resources at the school are absolutely amazing - they even have iPads to use in the classroom!
It has been a nice weekend so far - lots of work to be done, but Shaun and I got to have a bit of fun as well. We went to our mates' house for dinner on Saturday night and I enjoyed spending some time with their five month old son, Nate. He is so cute! We have been invited to their wedding in Melbs in June, so that is something else fun to look forward to. Then, on Sunday morning, we went to see some other friends who just had their first bub two weeks ago. He is called Archer (Archie) and he is absolutely beautiful. I had such a lovely time giving him cuddles.
The next two weeks will be short work weeks (hooray!), as there is a public holiday on Friday and the following Monday for Easter. We are meeting up with our friends Dave and Siobhan to head down to the coast over the long weekend. We booked an amazing apartment right on the coast with fantastic views of the sea. Can't wait to relax for bit!
Not much else in the news department. I got a new camera, and I am still trying to figure out how to use it, so no new photos this week. But here are a few oldies to enjoy!

Guess who's back? Back again. HB's back. Tell a friend. Actually, don't do that last bit - I want to keep this blog as personal and private as possible! Anyways, as some of you may know, I have shut down my FaceBook account. But, I still want to be able to keep you all posted on my life, so the blog is back..... for now at least! I am going to try to update it (with photos!) about once per week, so stay tuned!

Is it overkill to make the last three posts about Shaun's birthday? Yes? Well, too bad..... I am doing it anyways. For those who are interested to know, here is how the day went down – Monday morning, we both get up and go to work. I get off work early, rush home to bake the cake and then leave to pick up Shaun from uni at about 6.30pm. We head over to our favourite local micro-brewery, The Wig and Pen, for a delicious pint or two. They had just tapped their newest brew, a lambic beer called Lamb-Go-Baa. One word to describe it? Heavenly. Seriously, one of the best beers I have ever tasted In.My.Life. The brew master at The Wig reckons it is the best brew he has ever done. If you check out the birthday pictures, its the beer in the little glass. Just typing this makes me want to head over there right now and have another. Anyways, after having a few drinks and running into some friends, we head back to the house for dinner. At Shaun's request, I made a curry (chickpea and potato) with pappadums and naan. I forgot to take photos, so you will just have to imagine that part. Then after dinner and dishes, I surprised Shaun with his cake – complete with sparkler candles! Overall, it was a lovely evening.... and I promise no more posts about the birthday!

Look what we made! For part of Shaun's birthday celebrations, we made some super delicious sugar cookies with almond icing, and Shaun picked the colours to use. We will be taking them to trivia tonight to share with our team. Yum!!
Also, I would like to wish a very, very happy birthday to my dear sister, Erika – you are such a wonderful person and I miss you so much every day. I love you!
